Morning routine hacks with Mushify

Posted by Mushify Team on

I used to wake up drowsy, uninspired and as repulsed by sunlight as a midcentury vampire, but now my mornings are where I'm the most productive. So what did I do to change that, and how can you do the same?

It all starts with one simple thing.

Sunlight.

Most of us don't know it, but light is essential in letting our bodies know when it's time for sleep, and time to wake up. Our bodies need 15-30 minutes of full on sunlight to set our circadian rhythm, and no, that drive to work with sun blinding you through the windscreen, doesn't count.

Great, you've dialed in your morning sunlight exposure, you feel more vigorous in the morning but still not creative or productive enough to bring that new idea to your lunch meeting. Did you know that exercise has been shown to boost creativity and further improve your sleep cycle? It sounds simple, but getting a good sweat inducing walk in every morning, isn't just good for your health and neighborhood status, but it can amplify your brain and get your body ready for a goodnights sleep later.

Now that you've nailed that, you feel great, crushing goals, you deserve a pat on the back. Now that you're committed to maintaining and improving your daily routine, you yearn to keep improving. Suddenly that muffin bar and instant coffee doesn't work for you anymore.

You need something to eat but can't have a sandwich on your drive to work. Fruit smoothies can be the most refreshing and energy inducing touch your day need, especially after that walk (Just don't go spilling it in your cup holders like I did once).

We have an awesome recipe to a brain boosting smoothie in our recipes blogs, right here
